JOB OVERVIEW/PURPOSE

 

Responsible for Adverse Action and HMDA review of mortgage loan files and Quality Control Review of loan files. The Compliance and QC Specialist will complete a HMDA scrub of cancelled, denied and funded Loans. This position will also review approved loans files prior to submission to the MH Loan Documentation Specialists. This position may type loan documents. The Compliance Specialist will data scrub files in compliance relief prior to submitting monthly completed HMDA files to the Compliance Department. This position performs all essential duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as Bank policies and procedures.

Essential Duties

 

* Complete monthly HMDA scrub of cancelled, denied and funded loan files.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly HMDA reports through Questsoft Compliance Relief, ensuring accuracy.
* Quality Control Checklist Review all files prior to submission to the Loan Documentation Specialists, completing checklist review of content such as valid-ID, signed Disclosures, subject property matches source documents data and E-folder integrity, vesting documentation matches source documents.
* Work with Compliance Department on any corrections, errors, discrepancies on HMDA reports.
* Become thoroughly familiar, comply and ensure compliance with CWB Credit Policies, Insurance and Processing Guidelines.
* May be given back up underwriting approval for review of adverse loans.
* Review assigned loan files for completeness and accuracy and conformity to the loan program listed.
* Ensure that the Loan Operating System matches the file documentation and reflects the current information status.
* Internal department audit/clean up of files for E-folder completeness.
* Communicate with Underwriter to ensure regulatory and procedural compliance.
* Communicate with Loan Consultants, and Loan Documentation Specialists to resolve issues efficiently and effectively to ensure timely loan delivery.
* Meets response and resolution times as defined in service level agreements and/or service requests and follows established processes to meet service level commitments.
* Cross trains in additional functions of the department, such as loan documentation and funding when needed.
* Completes all required regulatory training as assigned within deadlines established including BSA, Bank Security and any other training as assigned, within required timeframes and on an annual basis.
* Assists with ongoing audits providing the necessary documentation.
* Other duties and/or projects as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Skills

* Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
* Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably at a financial institution
* Awareness of operational responsibility for Regulatory and Audit issues:
* Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), CRA, Affirmative Action, Americans with Disabilities Act (Title I), GLB Privacy Act, CCPA, Bank Bribery Laws, Civil Rights Act (Title VII)
* Regulatory and privacy and security concerns
* Appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures. Regulations directly applicable to this position include Reg. CC, D, DD, E, B, C, H, O, U, X, and Z
* Possess a strong knowledge of HMDA reporting rules, Patriot Act, BSA regulation, Fair Credit Reporting Act

Job Benefits

Compensation:  Salary ranges from $57,000 to $78,000 per year.  The salary range is determined by the role, job duties, and position level and reflect the minimum and maximum target for  new hire salaries.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by job – related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
