The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for preparing financial information, external reporting and investor relations in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives established by the CFO and CEO as well as the Bank’s Board of Directors. At the direction of the CFO, this position manages and implements systems, processes, workflows, and procedures to perform technical and operational activities for the Finance Department. This position works in a leadership role to analyze and present data related to the financial status of the Bank. The Financial Reporting Analyst supports the construction of financial statements, related footnotes, data mapping, tax reporting and preparation of SEC documents (10K, 10Q and shareholder forms). This position reviews and implements risk management practices and provides internal and external reports and filings. This position assists with developing and maintaining internal accounting control systems to ensure safe and sound operations, accurate accounting records for the statements and timely, accurate report data for external auditors, regulators, and management. The Financial Reporting Analyst supports the CFO by offering insights, financial and tax guidance to best inform financial decisioning by the CFO, CEO, Executive Management Team and the Board of Directors. This position leads the SOX effort for the Finance Department and develops and implements procedures to execute, monitor and report activities in line with SOX guidance. This position performs all essential duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as Bank policies and procedures.

Essential Duties

* In conjunction with the CFO, this position develops, manages, executes, and reports on the goals and objectives established for the Finance Department to the CFO, CEO, Executive Management Team, and the Board of Directors
* Coordinates and prepares internal and external financial statements including forms 10-Q, 10-K, Y-9, Y-10 and annual report for filing with the SEC along with FFIEC filings
* Prepare reports on income and expense of the Bank, coordinate with various departments and compile all financial data and prepare final financial reports with the CFO
* Oversees regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
* Evaluates accounting and internal control systems and develops process and system improvements for effective, streamlined performance on various functions in the department
* Liaison between the department, internal auditors, external auditors and regulators
* Leads the SOX efforts for the Finance Department, including the development and implementation of procedures to execute, monitor, test and report activities in line with SOX guidance
* Establishes, maintains, and monitors internal accounting control systems in order to ensure safe/sound operations, accurate accounting records for the statement of the institution’s financial condition, and timely, accurate report data for regulators and management
* Evaluates, develops, and administers accounting systems and practices that comply with GAAP, FASB rulings, regulations and laws
* Meets response and resolution times as defined in service level agreements and/or service requests, and follows established processes to meet service level commitments
* Cross trains in additional functions of the department
* Completes all required regulatory training as assigned within deadlines established including BSA, Bank Security and any other training as assigned, within required timeframes and on an annual basis
* Other duties and/or projects as assigned by CFO

Experience and Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
* Minimum 5 years of related experience with success in progressive roles with increasing levels of responsibility, preferably at a financial institution.
* CPA designation preferred
* Demonstrated skills and extensive knowledge of bank accounting
* Knowledge of organizational principles associated with complex coordinating, consulting, and financial relationships, particularly management, administrative, risk analysis and control relationships
* Strong financial and analytic skills with ability to assimilate complex information
* Experience with complex credit analysis and financial statement analysis
* Experience in a SOX/FDICIA environment
* Experience with tax and tax accounting
* Ability to effectively comprehend and interpret Bank policies and procedures in the work environment
* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
* Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
* Exhibit high degree of professionalism in handling and having access to sensitive information and protect and maintain that confidential information.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of employees and customers.

* Proficient with: MS Office, Workiva, Broadridge or other financial reporting software

Job Benefits

Compensation:  Salary ranges from $130,000 to $180,000 per year.  The salary range is determined by the role, job duties, and position level and reflect the minimum and maximum target for  new hire salaries.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by job – related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
